Tell us a little about what you do
Pride of the Barossa, formerly Barossa LGBTQIA+ Social group, has been active for five years and plan to run for many more, with events planned for now and the future, pride of the Barossa are driven to create acceptance in the Barossa and Beyond, with members reaching from the Riverland to Gawler we welcome everyone to join and participate, we also have many more events planned for the future too!
What impact or achievement are you most proud of this year?
The key to our impact is to create awareness in the Barossa and provide people opportunities to explore themselves and their community a little closer to home, being a regional town not everyone has the chance to experience safe spaces to be themselves, we are aiming to provide that for the local area.
Why does your work matter to the community?
Our work matters because we are proving that the LGBTQIA+ community exists even in the most unexpected areas, we are creating opportunities for the young people of the Barossa to explore themselves in a safe and welcoming environment.
What would you like voters to know when voting for you?
So we can provide a chance for regional youth and adults chances to explore and discover themselves
