How would you describe yourself or your work in one sentence?
Mary’s Day-to-Night Street Party. The Ultimate Finale to the Pride March.
Tell us a little about what you do
Held each year following the Pride March, Poppin Out expands Mary’s Poppin beyond its walls and onto the street for a large-scale community celebration. As a proudly queer owned and operated venue, Mary’s curates the event to showcase LGBTQIA+ performers and DJs from across Australia. Across three rooms and outdoor spaces, the event celebrates local talent while welcoming iconic national headliners for a high-energy Pride celebration.
What impact or achievement are you most proud of this year?
The third edition of Poppin Out continued the event’s strong momentum and growing community impact. This year featured an expanded lineup of queer performers, the introduction of a VIP experience to elevate the event, interactive photo moments for guests, and vibrant drag production shows that brought the celebration to life.
Why does your work matter to the community?
With limited large-scale events in Adelaide that centre queer performers, Poppin Out provides an important platform for LGBTQIA+ talent while extending the Pride celebration beyond the march itself. It creates a safe, joyful space where the community can gather, celebrate visibility, and support queer artists.
What would you like voters to know when voting for you?
March with pride, then celebrate together. A vote for Poppin Out supports an event that keeps the spirit of Pride alive — championing queer talent, community connection, and unapologetic celebration.
