How would you describe yourself or your work in one sentence?
A fabulous fusion of drag, comedy and queer storytelling — on a wild quest for love, laughs and her happily-ever-after!
Tell us a little about what you do
Kane Enable is an Kaurna Land based drag artist, storyteller and creative producer whose work blends high camp, sharp comedy and heartfelt queer narrative. A resident performer at Marys Poppin since its opening in 2016, Kane has become a defining presence in South Australia’s nightlife and performance scene.
Beyond the club stage, Kane has toured nationally alongside internationally renowned drag artists and has created original solo productions for Adelaide Fringe, including This Is My Drag Show and the award-nominated This Is My Drag Wedding. Her work is known for immersive audience interaction, pop-culture precision and an ability to balance outrageous humour with genuine emotional depth.
What impact or achievement are you most proud of this year?
This Is My Drag Wedding has established itself as one of Adelaide Fringe’s standout queer comedy experiences. Blending "live" vocals, storytelling, improvised audience participation and theatrical spectacle, the show transforms a traditional wedding narrative into a bold, camp reimagining of love and commitment.
Critically praised for its wit and sincerity, the production resonated deeply with audiences by pairing laugh-out-loud absurdity with moments of vulnerability. Its continued return to Fringe reflects both strong audience demand and its growing reputation as a uniquely South Australian queer work that delivers both entertainment and emotional impact.
Why does your work matter to the community?
Kane Enable’s work centres queer joy, vulnerability and celebration in spaces where representation matters. By reclaiming traditional rituals — such as the wedding — through a drag lens, This Is My Drag Wedding creates a powerful cultural statement: queer stories deserve centre stage.
The show fosters connection between LGBTQIA+ audiences and allies, offering visibility, catharsis and shared laughter. It contributes to Adelaide’s cultural landscape by proving that drag is not only nightlife entertainment, but a legitimate and impactful theatrical art form within major festivals like Adelaide Fringe.
What would you like voters to know when voting for you?
Voting for This Is My Drag Wedding means championing bold queer storytelling that celebrates love loudly, centres community and proves that drag isn’t just a performance — it’s a full-blown celebration everyone’s invited to.
