How would you describe yourself or your work in one sentence?
THE ADELAIDE 36ERS ORGANISATION COMBINES THE PURSUIT OF ON COURT EXCELLENCE, WITH AN UNWAVERING FOCUS ON INCLUSION, ENGAGAMENT AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL.
Tell us a little about what you do
Founded in 1983, the Adelaide 36ers are one of the most iconic and internationally recognised brands in Australian basketball. The team’s name pays homage to South Australia’s rich history, established in 1836.
With over four decades of dedication, the 36ers have cemented their place in the National Basketball League (NBL), securing four championships and making history as the only NBL team to defeat an NBA franchise.
The club continues to set benchmarks both on and off the court.
Beyond the game, the Adelaide 36ers are deeply rooted in family and community values, leading numerous off court initiatives that drive engagement, growth and social inclusion.
What impact or achievement are you most proud of this year?
Through our Pride engagement activities, we have:
1. Participated in a collaboration on a social media campaign between the Adelaide 36ers, the NBL, Adelaide 36ers player Isaac Humphries and former NBL player AJ Ogilvy.
2. Engagement with the South Australia Spectres Pride Basketball Team.
3. Adelaide 36ers Game Day Take Over and Engagement on the 31st of January 2026 with a sold our Adelaide Entrainment Centre Venue to highlight the importance of inclusion, acceptance and visibility of the LGBTQIASB+ community.
Additionally, throughout 2025, the Adelaide 36ers engaged 28,192 people across 66 schools and community settings, reinforcing its position as a leader in engagement through sport. Adelaide 36ers players played a central role in this impact, contributing more than 810 hours of direct community engagement, bringing authenticity, inspiration and strong role modelling into schools and communities.
Why does your work matter to the community?
We strive for excellence on and off the court, we never settle for second place, we continue to push ourselves. We are pushing the boundaries of an elite sporting organisation.
We understand the role that sport plays within our community to influence and inspire people through positive role models, such as the Adelaide 36ers. We focus on inclusion of all people, our Pride engagement and supporting the visibility and safety of the LGBTQIASB+ community is an important part of our engagement.
What would you like voters to know when voting for you?
