Celebrating Success: Highlights from the South Australian Pride Gala 🏳️‍🌈🍾

On Saturday 15 June 2024, Adelaide witnessed an unforgettable celebration of pride, unity, and achievement at the inaugural South Australian Pride Gala.


Held in the Ian and Pamela Wall Gallery at the iconic Her Majesty’s Theatre, the event brought together the LGBTQIA+ community and allies to honour outstanding contributions and recognise the exceptional work being done across South Australia.


The atmosphere was electric as attendees gathered to celebrate the inaugural South Australian Pride Awards. The evening was filled with spectacular performances form Emerauld, moving speeches, and a palpable sense of community spirit. The award winners exemplify the best of what our community has to offer, and we were thrilled to highlight their achievements.


Community Impact Award: Shine SA

Shine SA has been at the forefront of promoting sexual health and wellbeing in South Australia. Their comprehensive education programs and support services have made a profound impact, fostering a culture of inclusivity and awareness. This well-deserved recognition highlights their invaluable contributions to our community.


Event of the Year: Marys in the Park

Marys in the Park delivered a standout event that brought joy, connection, and celebration to our community. This award recognises the exceptional effort that went into creating a memorable and engaging experience for all attendees, setting a high standard for future events.


Community Group of the Year: Pride of the South

Pride of the South has worked tirelessly to support LGBTQIA+ individuals in the southern regions of South Australia. Their advocacy, support networks, and community-building efforts have strengthened the fabric of our community, making them a deserving recipient of this award.


Venue of the Year: Marys Poppin

Marys Poppin has become a beloved fixture in Adelaide’s LGBTQIA+ scene. Known for its inclusive environment and vibrant events, it continues to be a safe and joyous space for all. This award celebrates its role in fostering community spirit and providing a welcoming venue for expression and celebration.


Performer/Artist of the Year: Kane Enable

Kane Enable’s captivating performances have left a mark on audiences throughout the year. Their talent, dedication, and visibility as an LGBTQIA+ artist make them a standout figure in our community. This award honours their artistic contributions and the inspiration they provide to others.
