EXAMPLE: Pride March Adelaide
How would you describe yourself or your work in one sentence?
Proud to produce the largest single-day pride event in South Australia
Tell us a little about what you do
Pride March Adelaide is South Australia’s largest single-day Pride celebration, bringing thousands of LGBTQIASB+ people, allies, families and community groups together in a visible, united show of pride. Led by volunteers, the March honours more than 50 years of protest and progress while creating a safe, inclusive space where everyone can show up as themselves.
What impact or achievement are you most proud of this year?
Each year, the March draws thousands of participants and spectators into the heart of Adelaide, with community groups, sporting clubs, workplaces, performers and activists walking side by side. The event increases visibility for LGBTQIASB+ South Australians, strengthens partnerships across sectors, and provides a platform for emerging voices, First Nations communities and grassroots organisations to be seen and heard.
Why does your work matter to the community?
Visibility saves lives. For many, Pride March is the first time they see LGBTQIASB+ people celebrated publicly. It builds connection, reduces isolation and sends a clear message that LGBTQIASB+ people belong everywhere. In metropolitan and regional South Australia, public celebration plays a critical role in shifting attitudes, building understanding and fostering safer communities.
What would you like voters to know when voting for you?
Pride March Adelaide is community-led, volunteer-driven and built on decades of advocacy. A vote recognises the thousands who walk, organise, support and stand up each year. It honours the legacy of those who marched before us and backs the future of a stronger, louder and more inclusive South Australia.
